Yes! Renters are protected against accidental damage and loss while using the items during their rental period. We want you to rent with peace of mind, knowing that accidents are covered. In the case of accidental loss, we may request documentation to verify the claim.
However, we do remind renters to handle items with care, as there are situations where renters may be held liable. These situations include:
- Failing to return or damaging items due to negligence
- Not returning items because of theft
Outlined below are some conditions where renters remain responsible. These include, but are not limited to:

Improper Use

- Using mismatched wattage
- Using incorrect parts
- Using items in a manner that they weren’t designed for, which could cause damage

Non-Return Due to Theft

If you, as a renter, already have personal insurance, we will ask you to first file a claim with your existing insurance before proceeding with a claim through Fat Llama. If your claim is denied, you’ll need to provide us with written evidence that the insurers declined the claim.
